Recipe by Mama Lovejoy

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 3 lbs oxtails

  • 1 medium onion, chopped

  • 3 garlic cloves, diced

  • 3–4 carrots, chopped

  • 1 can diced tomatoes

  • 1 cup Lovejoy’s Bloody Mary Mix (Classic or Thai Basil—your call)

Optional Kick: Add a splash of Lovejoy’s Burn Yo Face Off Hot Sauce for next-level heat.

Instructions:

  1. Wash oxtails and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. In a 5-quart skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high until hot.

  3. Braise oxtails in batches, browning on all sides. Remove and set aside.

  4. In the same pan, sauté onions and garlic in the drippings until tender and fragrant.

  5. Add chopped carrots, diced tomatoes, and Bloody Mary Mix. Stir to combine.

  6. Return the oxtails to the pan, nestling them into the sauce.

  7. Cover and transfer to a preheated oven at 325°F. Bake for 2 hours, or until the oxtails are tender and falling off the bone.

  8. Serve over hot rice, mashed potatoes, egg noodles—or with a slice of warm cornbread.

Bon Appetit!!
