Recipe by Mama Lovejoy
Ingredients:
-
1 Tbsp olive oil
-
3 lbs oxtails
-
1 medium onion, chopped
-
3 garlic cloves, diced
-
3–4 carrots, chopped
-
1 can diced tomatoes
-
1 cup Lovejoy’s Bloody Mary Mix (Classic or Thai Basil—your call)
Optional Kick: Add a splash of Lovejoy’s Burn Yo Face Off Hot Sauce for next-level heat.
Instructions:
-
Wash oxtails and pat dry with paper towels.
-
In a 5-quart skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high until hot.
-
Braise oxtails in batches, browning on all sides. Remove and set aside.
-
In the same pan, sauté onions and garlic in the drippings until tender and fragrant.
-
Add chopped carrots, diced tomatoes, and Bloody Mary Mix. Stir to combine.
-
Return the oxtails to the pan, nestling them into the sauce.
-
Cover and transfer to a preheated oven at 325°F. Bake for 2 hours, or until the oxtails are tender and falling off the bone.
-
Serve over hot rice, mashed potatoes, egg noodles—or with a slice of warm cornbread.
Bon Appetit!!
