Lovejoy’s Bloody Mary Braised Oxtails Recipe by Mama Lovejoy, V.P. of Everything at Lovejoy's Brand

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 lbs. of oxtails
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (diced)
  • 3 or 4 carrots (chopped)
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup Lovejoy’s Bloody Mary Mix

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Wash oxtails and dry with a paper towel. In a 5-quart skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat until it is very hot
  2. Braise oxtails until brown
  3. Divide oxtails into several batches, if necessary
  4. Remove from skillet
  5. In the drippings, sauté onions and garlic until tender
  6. Add carrots, tomatoes, and Lovejoy’s Bloody Mary Mix
  7. Add Oxtails back into the skillet
  8. Cover and place in oven for 2 hours or until the oxtails are tender
  9. Serve over hot rice, with potatoes, or egg noodles, and/or with corn bread
  10. For an extra punch in the face add Lovejoy’s Burn Yo hot sauce!
